Green Energy
Solar panels were added to the New Hayward commercial buildings in April 2025. These now provide cheaper renewable energy to the tenants of the commercial buildings at New Hayward, in addition to them being able to use electricity from the grid during the darker months. Any excess electricity produced by the panels in the summer months is sold to the grid, increasing the grid’s capacity to supply other people with green energy.
In addition, ground mounted solar panels have been erected next to Leverton Manor to produce renewable energy for the house.
