Education and Events
One of the core aims of the Chilton Estate is to encourage a better understanding of the importance of farming, conservation and care and enjoyment of the natural and built environment. Educational opportunities include lectures and farm tours for students and the local community. The Estate is hosting an increasing number of events for charitable and community groups.
Recent visits include several study groups (undergraduate and post-graduate) from the University of Reading, one from the Royal Agricultural University at Cirencester and, latterly, weekly work experience visits by young people from Prior’s Court, Hermitage, near Thatcham. Prior’s Court is dedicated to bringing the highest level of expertise to support and improve life chances for people with severe autism. The Estate also has taken on an apprentice studying at Sparsholt College.
